Pianist Elena Doubovitskaya has built a versatile career as a solo artist, chamber musician, collaborative pianist, and educator, having performed recitals in USA and abroad.

A native of Russia, Dr. Doubovitskaya performed her debut recital in Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in 2002 as part of an Artists International Concert Series. In addition to the USA, she has performed in Germany, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, China and Russia. In high demand as a collaborative artist, Dr. Doubovitskaya has performed and coached at the East-West Summer Music Festival in Altenburg, Germany from 2004 to 2009. Her accomplishments include awards and scholarships from Artists International Presentations, the Seattle International Piano Competition, the Ibla Grand Prize Competition (Italy), Tanglewood Music Festival, the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music, and the Manhattan School of Music. Her performances have been broadcast on WFMT, Canadian and Netherlands radio stations.

As a collaborative pianist for the Tanglewood Music Festival, Dr. Doubovitskaya was featured performing compositions by Bent Sørensen, George Perle, and Pierre Jalbert and participated in workshops with composers Andre Previn and Oliver Knussen. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has appeared in festivals nationwide and abroad, including the Adamant Music Festival, Prague International Masterclasses, Hot Springs Music Festival and Sewanee Music Festival.  Her collaboration with the New York City Associated Music Teachers League led to a performance at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall for the 67th Young Musicians Concert.

Dr. Doubovitskaya is a member of Chicago-based Lakeshore Rush, a contemporary ensemble dedicated to promoting and commissioning new music. In addition, she frequently performs with Pianissimo! a four-piano ensemble and is a co-founder (together with Svetlana Belsky) of the EStrella Piano Duo. Recent highlights include Chicago's Watershed, a multi-disciplinary project based on Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring; the project involved an arrangement for piano duet and collaborations with Chicago’s Clinard Dance Company and visual artist Dmitry Samarov. It was presented to critical acclaim at the University of Chicago Logan Center for the Arts and at Peking University in Beijing, China. Album releases from Estrella Piano Duo include Russian Masterpieces (2015) and the award-winning Tales from the East (2019)

Dr. Doubovitskaya's academic affiliations include positions at California State University-Sacramento and Wagner College in New York City. As an accomplished piano teacher, she has presented masterclasses in solo piano and pedagogy, piano duet and chamber music at Florida State University, Hunter College, Lawrence University and Cardinal Stritch University.

Dr. Doubovitskaya received her undergraduate degree from the Ural State "Mussorgsky" Conservatory in Ekaterinburg, Russia, followed by a Master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music and Doctor of Music degree from Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music. She has studied under Solomon Mikowsky, Ursula Oppens, Sylvia Wang, and others, and has participated in Masterclasses with Menahem Pressler, Emanuel Ax, James Levine, Garrick Ohlsson, Claude Frank, and Martin Katz.  During her career, she has also received coaching from Leif Ove Andnes, Oxana Yablonskaya, Dawn Upshaw, and Laurie Carney. Dr. Doubovitskaya currently serves as Piano Department Chair on the faculty of the Merit School of Music in Chicago.
